Attention Future Movie Stars:

ARE YOU HOT ?

Do you love Japanese and Korean dramas / soap operas?

Interested in acting for a new tv show?

FUTURE MOVIES STARS: Attractive girls and handsome guys (including Indian, Filipina, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, etc.) are invited to audition. This new tv show currently in production will air on UTV13 this semester, and we plan to shoot several half-hour episodes this academic year. UTV13 is the student-run television station of the University of Pennsylvania. UTV13 is the oldest college television station in the country. The station is run entirely by the students, for the students.

There is an Asian storyline in the tv show (not that the entire tv show is Asian, there are roughly 5 storylines in total) that will be shot in the style and attitude of Japanese drama / Korean soap opera. If this Asian storyline is successful this season, then there is the possibility of spinning it off next academic year as its own, separate Japanese drama / Korean soap opera tv show.

Acting experience is not required, we will teach you television acting. Bad English or strong accent is okay!! You don't need to be able to speak an Asian language. Drexel, Temple, and Penn students are all welcome! Freshmen and Sophomores are especially encouraged to audition, as well as attractive graduate students. Non-students can also participate! Auditions in September and October, with shooting in October to December. You will be contacted later with the final details of the auditions.

Serious inquires only. Please note: no academic credit, no pay. Expect a weekly time commitment of occasionally up to 4-6 hours, but typically only 1-2 hours per week. All shooting will probably be only on the weekends. Please email recent headshot photo (high quality) and contact information to kenji@utv13.org

Don’t want to act, but you know and love Japanese and/or Korean soap opera? Then why don’t you help write the soap opera by joining the writing staff as a consultant or writer?!

There are also opportunities for directors, producers, costume designers, make up artists, etc.. Experience is not required, we will teach you!!

Hello everyone,

We hope everyone enjoyed his or her Summer, regardless of if you were in classes or on Co-op. We are excited for the upcoming Fall term, because we have many things planned for the new year 2007. Now, as a fully recognized organization at Drexel University, our potential and options have considerably expanded.

We would officially like to announce the launch of our new Drexel KSA website! Thanks to our new webmaster, Keith Larson, we now have an official website. Please visit us at www.drexelksa.com. We still have many changes and additions to be made, but our site is already looking great!

We would also like to thank everyone who came out to the screening of, "Seoul Train." A special thank you to Professor Mun Choi and our advisor, Dr. Roy Kim. Seoul Train educated us and the community about the happenings and seriousness of the crisis in North Korea. For the people who came out, we will be sure to keep you updated through e-mail of how we can help in this important cause. For the people who missed out, we will have another community screening sometime in the Fall term. We will also be screening another documentary as well.

Some of our officers and Alumni also recently met with Congressman, Curt Weldon. He is also Vice President of Armed Forces. www.house.gov/curtweldon. Drexel KSA hopes to continue to strengthen our network outside of our organization.

We look forward to seeing you all Fall Term! For more information, you may contact the officers at drexelksa@gmail.com. If you are a new freshman, please send us your contact information, and we will add you to our database. Thank you.

KOREAN IS AN OFFICIAL DREXEL LANGUAGE!!

It's official. Next term, Drexel will be offering THREE classes in Korean :

KOREAN 101
KOREAN 102
KOREAN 103 or 104 [yet to be decided]

That said, everyone please SPREAD THE WORD! Word of mouth is our most powerful means of communication right now. Until the KSA decides to promote it otherwise, we're counting on YOU guys to let our students know about this!

Everyone should be very excited, as this really is history in the making.

Peace!
- Drexel KSA
